TRAVEL IDEAS
San Diego has a lot to offer, below are a couple ideas to see or to do.
TRAVELING TO DOWNTOWN SAN DIEGO
Several options exist for travelling from the airport to the Gaslamps Quarter which is an area in downtown San Diego and the location of the Annual Meeting. The most inexpensive option is likely the public transportation system; however, links are provided below to assist your journey. Depending on whether you take public transit, Uber, or taxi or rent a car, the travel time could range from 10 to 30 minutes.
PARKING AT THE UC SAN DIEGO PARK AND MARKET
- It will be difficult to find parking in October; therefore, we recommend you rely on your hotel for parking support and walk to the Annual Meeting venue which is in easy reach of most of the downtown hotels in the Gaslamps Quarter (10 mins or less).
- Parking is limited to 9 spots at the UC Park and Market and will cost $10 US per spot for each day. If you wish to access one of these spots, please contact Joanne Duklas before September 30, 2024 to join the list (execdir@groningendeclaration). Priority will be given to those with physical challenges with walking and those who need to load and unload vehicles for session and event preparation.
- For those seeking parking, note that once 9 spots are allocated each day, there will be no more available.
- To access the underground garage, you should enter from 11th Avenue and park your vehicle. Come to the registration desk in the Forum on the first floor on the first day of the Annual Meeting (Oct 7) to pay for and secure your parking ticket (from 12 to 1pm). You will need this when you exit the garage at the end of the day.
