Message from the Board of Directors

As will have become clear to many of you, the 2020 GDN Annual Meeting had to be cancelled earlier this March due to the rise of the COVID-19 virus as a worldwide pandemic. The cancellation has been a difficult but unavoidable decision, and in retrospect, we can only say that it was the right decision. The GDN as a foundation will undoubtedly suffer a setback in its means of subsistence, but at the end of the day, all such concerns pale into insignificance against the backdrop of the currently unfolding global drama, with infections and casualties mounting, countries closing borders and global mobility simply halted. All we can say is to please take care, look after your family and loved ones, and let’s hope the pandemic will recede rather sooner than later.

As all of us constantly seek to adjust to this new environment, embracing digital tools to keep the semblance of normalcy, we at the GDN are doing our bit to bring in digital modes of delivery. In the coming days and weeks, we will reach out to all our stakeholders with updates about delivering the 2020 conference content in digital formats, such as videoed presentations and webinars.

For now, stay safe and we can’t wait to come together when the world will have come through the other end. Here’s to better days.

Amee Shroff, President
Herman de Leeuw, Executive Director

New Signatories 2020

Due to the cancellation of our annual meeting, unfortunately there was no new signatories ceremony but we are nevertheless proud to welcome the following 14 new signatories that have all read and approved of the Groningen Declaration and of its Network’s Statutes, By-Laws, Code of Conduct and Statement of Ethical Principles. By applying their signatures, they commit to promoting the aims of the Groningen Declaration Network by their active involvement in its Task Forces, Committees and other activities.
